About this internship
This one-month hands-on training program in Clinical Microbiology and Immunology provides practical exposure to essential laboratory techniques used in clinical and microbiological research.
Participants will learn basic laboratory calculations, reagent preparation, instrument handling, quality control and good documentation practices. The program covers isolation and identification of pathogenic bacterial strains from biological fluids, antimicrobial sensitivity testing, biofilm assays and bacterial strain selection using differential media.
The training also provides practical exposure to molecular detection of pathogens using nested PCR, microbial staining and visualization techniques, MIC and MBC determination, blood grouping and immunological assays such as Dot ELISA and Sandwich ELISA.
Participants will further learn plasma and serum isolation, protein characterization, Giemsa staining, double and radial immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis.
