About this internship
This hands-on Molecular Biology training program provides practical exposure to fundamental molecular biology and recombinant DNA techniques.
Participants will learn genomic DNA extraction from plant, animal and bacterial samples, plasmid DNA isolation from E. coli, RNA extraction and agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA and RNA.
The program further covers cDNA synthesis, targeted gene amplification using PCR, primer designing, colony PCR, restriction digestion, gel extraction, ligation, competent cell preparation and bacterial gene transformation. Genetic identification of bacterial strains using 16S rRNA sequencing is also included.
