Scope and role

This Privacy Policy explains how PracG collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you visit pracg.in, create an account, apply to labs, subscribe to updates, or contact us.

In this policy, PracG, we, our, and us refer to the operator of the PracG platform. For the activities described here, PracG determines why and how personal data is processed for the service.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect the following categories of data:

  • Account and identity data: full name, email address, phone number, sign-in method, and account status.
  • Student profile data: qualification, stream, college, university, degree level, graduation year, city, country, bio, interests, preferred roles, availability, and skills.
  • Application data: selected lab, internship preferences, budget expectations, area of interest, resume URL, application history, and status updates.
  • Communication data: contact form messages, newsletter subscriptions, and service-related email history.
  • Authentication and technical data: session and security cookies, device or browser context reasonably necessary for authentication, timestamps, and limited security logs such as IP address or user-agent metadata used in password and account protection workflows.
  • Usage and performance data: page-view, navigation, referrer, browser, device, and web-vitals style performance telemetry collected through our hosting and analytics providers to understand traffic patterns, diagnose reliability issues, and improve site performance.
  • Third-party sign-in data: if you use Google sign-in, we may receive basic account details made available by that provider, such as your name and email address.

How we collect it

  • Directly from you when you sign up, complete your profile, apply to a lab, or contact us.
  • From authentication providers, such as Google, when you choose federated sign-in.
  • From partner-lab workflow activity, such as application review outcomes or related status changes.
  • Automatically from your browser or device when needed to run sessions, protect accounts, and diagnose reliability issues.
  • From privacy-oriented traffic and performance instrumentation we enable through our hosting stack in production.

How we use personal data

  • Provide, authenticate, secure, and maintain the PracG service.
  • Create and manage your account, profile, saved workflow, and application history.
  • Present your chosen applications and related profile details to relevant partner labs.
  • Respond to support requests, contact submissions, and operational questions.
  • Send service and transactional communications, including account and application updates.
  • Send newsletters only where you subscribe or otherwise permit those communications.
  • Monitor misuse, enforce our Terms, prevent fraud, and investigate security incidents.
  • Measure traffic, page performance, and web-vitals style reliability signals so we can monitor and improve the service.
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the service.

When we share personal data

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data in the following situations:

  • With partner labs you choose to engage: when you apply or participate in a lab workflow, relevant profile and application information may be shown to that lab.
  • With service providers: we use infrastructure and operations vendors to run the platform, including providers for authentication, database/storage, transactional email delivery, hosting, traffic analytics, and performance monitoring.
  • Within PracG on a need-to-know basis: admins and support personnel may access data required to operate the platform, moderate content, support users, or resolve technical issues.
  • For legal or safety reasons: where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, enforce our agreements, or protect users, labs, or the platform.
  • As part of a business transition: if PracG is reorganized, financed, merged, or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality and continuity measures.

Depending on our infrastructure setup and providers, personal data may be processed in India and in other jurisdictions where our service providers operate.

When cross-border processing occurs, we use contractual, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data and the risks involved.

  • Application records may be retained for operational history, dispute handling, auditing, and partner-lab workflow integrity.
  • Contact messages are retained for follow-up, support, and business-record purposes.
  • Newsletter records are retained until you unsubscribe or we otherwise stop the mailing list.
  • Security and backup data may remain in logs or backups for a limited period before deletion or overwrite.
